Job Highlights

  • Pay $55/hr 
  • 13-week contract

  • 8-hour shifts
  • Non-taxed stipend if applicable

Qualifications

  • Education: BS degree in Dietetics and Nutrition from an approved program
  • Licensure: Must have and maintain current National Registry 
  • Must have and maintain current Mississippi Professional Dietitians license
  • Experience: At least one year as a clinical dietitian

Responsibilities

  • Provides nutritional consultative services to patients
  • The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for the planning and implementation of Medical Nutrition Therapy for Acute Care Patients
  • Evaluate and assess the nutritional status of high-risk patients according to department policies and established standards of care
  • Calculates Nutritional requirements and diet restrictions as indicated
  • Establishes Nutrition care plan by applying critical thinking and effectively communicates professional judgment to the healthcare team
  • Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of care plan and adjusts as needed
  • Educates and counsels patients and caregivers on Medical Nutrition Therapy
  • Demonstrates compliance with and support for the Core Principles and Code of Conduct
  • Participates as a team member to help achieve clinical goals, clinical measures, and customer satisfaction
  • Complies with all regulatory standards including federal, state, and accrediting agencies while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient rights policies
